]Will I still have access to my equipment?
Absolutely. We provide Door access utilizing your iCard in all of our locations. You can come and go whenever you need.

How will I be notified if there is a change in the data center?
Technology Services Data Center sends out notifications using Microsoft Teams, if there is going to be something that will impact your service.

Who do I call if there is a problem?
Our Data Centers has an on-call number 217-552-8387 to assist you in emergencies after normal work hours. This does not include gaining access for iCard issues.

How secure will my systems be? All Technology Services Data Center facilities have access control policies and locked doors. Each facilities also contains a video surveillance system.

Why move to Technology Services Data Centers?
This is a free service to all academic, institute, and center. We provide a great space to house your hardware and work with you to give you back space for other tasks and peace of mind.

What services are provided at Technology Services Data Centers?

What does it cost?
It is free. Really? Yes to most. Who is eligible to get it for free? Free to any academic, institute, or center. All others do incur a per U charge.

HAB has two UPS's
DCL has two UPS's

Are other people going to touch my stuff?
This is a colocation space where we have an agreement that any work you do within the data center is to your own equipment and no others. There are times where the staff need to work within your rack but they will not touch your hardware unless they have notified you of their intent.

Cyber security?
We are using the campus system. Technology Services Data Center does not have security devices within the space but does rely on the Technology Services at Illinois firewall and security services.

Who will be working on my hardware?
That is up to you. We provide the space, network, power, cooling and physical security. You and your selected IT provider is responsible for maintaining your hardware.

What kind of equipment can I bring in?
If you are consolidating from another space you may bring the hardware you have. It is expected that any new purchase be rack mountable moving forward.

What is the turnaround time for installing hardware there?
We will notify the client by using the ticketing system (TeamDynamix) when the equipment is installed.

What should you do before submitting ticket(s) for installation?
Contact Data Center Team before you purchase new equipment and before submitting ticket(s) for installation.

How do I schedule deliveries to the data center?
Use the form under Work Request to inform Data Center Team of deliveries for your department.
Data Center hours for delivery will need to be scheduled between the hours 8 AM to 2 PM Monday thru Friday.
NO DELIVERIES WILL BE ACCEPTED DURING UNIVERSITY HOLIDAYS
